With more than 355 enthusiastic employees Noordhoff Publishers develops learning tools and school books for any level of education in The Netherlands. Noordhoff provides products and services for primary and secondary education, business schools as well as training and support for learning professionals. Noordhoff is known for many publishing successes, such as ‘De Bosatlas’, Loco and the popular Ambrasoft software.

Challenge // Innovation and digitalization in the education industry requires continuous renewal of learning methods. Collaboration between teams and cross-functional disciplines within Noordhoff and cocreation with users is key for Noordhoff to keep their position in the strongly competitive education market and influence the time-to-market. In this assignment we unlock knowledge and expertise within teams, facilitate cross-team innovation and connect the Noordhoff professionals by creating a shared office with shared spaces. To support this successfully, we create a new vision on coworking within Noordhoff, based on renewed work processes and principles.

Result // After exploring the possibilities of new ways of working, management and employees define their new way of working. This is the basis for a change program and a movement in which we change and influence the physical, virtual and mental work environment and the collaboration between teams. We designed the change program, redesigned and renovated the office, managed projects (from facility management & housing to IT- and HR aspects), facilitated workshops and supported the creation of a new mind-set within Noordhoff Publishers.

In 2016 we create new facilities in the office in Groningen matching the changing needs and new ways of working. To facilitate coworking, working in flexibele projectteams (SCRUM), more privacy and online working we realize new projectspaces, call-/Skype spaces and an innovation lab.
